SODA (Support with One-stop care on Demand for Adolescents and young adults in Adachi) has continued to provide consultation services for the mental health of young people since July, 2019, mainly in Adachi, Tokyo. On August 12, the staff of Adachi City visited SODA. In Adachi City, “Adachi Project to Connect to the Future” is being developed as a policy for young people(https://www.city.adachi.tokyo.jp/sesaku/miraihetunaguadachipurojekuto.html).
First, the presentation was given about the research objectives of MEICIS and its practice in each model area, and SODA’s efforts so far. Then, we discussed the current state of mental health of children and young people in Adachi, their support, and future challenges. In the discussion, we recognized that SODA’s activities were permeating into the community and that they were perceived as a useful service to young people, and we were greatly encouraged to further develop them. We would like to do our best so that SODA can contribute to mental health and the construction of the community-based integrated care system in Adachi.
