At “The 14th Brazil Festival (Sponsored: Brazilian commercial meeting hall in general corporation Japan)” held in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo, July 20 to 21, we acted as the relief team. Delivery of mental health services to foreign residents of Japan is one of the aims of the MEICIS project. This activity was conducted with Dr. Sachio Miura (Representative of NPO MAIKEN) who was a Research Collaborator and had been providing support to Brazilians living in Japan. We were lucky to meet Mr. Eduardo Saboia, the Brazilian Ambassador to Japan, and Mr. Rei Oiwa, Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, South America Division, Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, and explained the MEICIS project to them. We came in contact with a warm, openhearted people and culture, and have resolved to promote the project.
