On Friday, October 4, we visited the Consulate General of Brazil in Nagoya. We held a meeting with Consul General Mr. Luís Abbott Galvão and introduced the psychological consultation activities, including online, in Gunma Prefecture, Keihin area, and Tokai area that MEICIS has been working on, as well as collaborations with NPOs in various areas.
It has been revealed that young Brazilians in their teens and 20s visit counseling sessions the most, and are suffering from depression and conflicts in interpersonal relationships, including with their families and children. We have shown that we are implementing assessments for prevention and early intervention. In particular, we emphasized that we have psychiatrists who are available to provide specialized support and advice, and we gained understanding that the mental health of foreigners is an important issue. We will continue activities to introduce our initiatives to public institutions.
